Traditional engineering, also known as sequential engineering, is the process of marketing, engineering design, manufacturing, testing and production where each stage of the development process is carried out separately, and the next stage cannot start until the previous stage is finished. Therefore the information flow is only in one direction, and it is not until the end of the chain that errors, changes and corrections can be relayed to the start of the sequence, causing estimated costs to be under predicted. This can cause many problems; such as time consumption due to many modifications being made as each stage does not take into account the next. This method is hardly used today, as the concept of concurrent engineering is more efficient.

The Man in the Arena is the title of a speech given by Teddy Roosevelt at the Sorbonne in Paris, France on April 23, 1910. It was subsequently re-printed in his book “Citizenship in a Republic.”

The speech is notable for an extended passage, which has become quite famous over the years:

“It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.”

This passage was quoted by Richard Nixon in his resignation speech on August 8, 1974.

“Sometimes I have succeeded and sometimes I have failed, but always I have taken heart from what Theodore Roosevelt once said about the man in the arena, ‘whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, […]’”

Someone who is heavily involved in a situation that requires courage, skill, or tenaciousness (as opposed to someone sitting on the sidelines and watching), is sometimes referred to as “the man in the arena.”

Arimofa motorcycle

The Arimofa was a German automobile manufactured between 1921 and 1922 by Ari-Motorfahrzeugbau GmbH of Plauen, Vogtland.

The company began by producing cyclecars with a 12hp Steudel twin-cylinder engine; these were built in limited numbers before Arimofa turned to building motorcycles. Between 1923 and 1925 the same company produced the Ari two-stroke motorcycle.

Dino Dini’s Goal is the real sequel to Kick Off 2. Dino Dini was responsible for all engineering and game design and introduced improved dynamics and A.I. as well as other innovative features, such as multiple camera views.
Goal! was published by Virgin Games and it shipped 60,000 units on the first day

Powersports are a subset of the generalized category motorsports. Examples of powersport vehicles are motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles and PWCs. One of the defining features of any powersport is the use of an engine, in one form or another. Other defining features of powersport vehicles include the use of handlebars to control movement and the mounting of the rider “on” the machine, exposed to the elements. Powersports have always had a following as spectator sports, and with the introduction of the X-Games, even the most extreme, fringe varieties have become commonly known.

Mazda G engine engine

The G family of Mazda engines is a family of large straight-4 piston engines that was commercialize from 1989 to 1999. The series started at 2.6 L for the Mazda B-Series truck from ‘89-’93. Prior to that, a 2.6 L Mitsubishi engine was used.

The 2.6 L Mazda G54B was actually a Mitsubishi engine. It displaced 2555 cc and was used in the B2600 pickup from 1986-1988.


G6

Mazda replaced the G54B with its own 2.6 L G6 engine which displaced 2606 cc. It was used in the B2600 pickup from 1988-1993.


G5

The 2.5 L G5 was an evolution of the G6. It was used in the 1995 Mazda MPV.


GY

The 2.5 L (2494 cc) GY was the final G engine.

Retrodiction the latter fails as

Retrodiction (or postdiction, though this should not be confused with the use of the term in criticisms of parapsychological research) is the act of making a prediction about the past. This is especially useful when one wishes to test a theory whose actual predictions are too long-term to be of immediate use. One speculates about uncertain events in the more distant past so that the theory would have predicted a known event in the less distant past. This is useful in, for example, the fields of archaeology, evolutionary biology, financial analysis, forensic science, and cosmology.

Postdiction, in a slightly different sense, is used to evaluate speculative theories such as those formulated by theoretical physicists. In this case it refers to predicting known (but not necessarily past) events. For example, a theory attempting to extend or replace the standard model that fails to predict the existence of known particles has not met the test of postdiction.
